Spring Camping in Eastern Washington
If winter was a good time to camp - no people, potential for some early blooming wildflowers - then Spring is ideal. A couple of weeks back I headed for Frenchman's Coulee in Eastern Washington to spend the night wildcamping among the sagebrush. A few things were up, such as our little native yellow fritillary.
Prairie Star |
Gray's biscuitroot
Sage buttercup (Ranunculus glaberrimus) |
Woolly-pod milk-vetch (Astragalus purshii) |
Fritillary - fritillatia pudica
Granite prickly phlox or granite gilia - Linanthus pungens
Allium crenolatum |
